We are gearing up for the 2014 Casa Valentina Community Appreciation Luncheon, which takes place in just 10 days.

This annual event celebrates the partners, donors, and volunteers who make our work possible – and make a difference in the lives of our residents every day.

We are planning a terrific program, which will be both enlightening and educational.

We will present awards to several organizations and individuals who have helped us to succeed this year. These include the wonderful groups who deliver meals to our residents for their weekly life skills workshops, and the many people who helped with our recent renovations to our apartments and our community room.

Staff will provide an update on our program, and our residents will share their accomplishments. It is incredibly moving to experience their pride and share their success.

The Keynote Address will be delivered by Ms. Leticia Peguero, Executive Director of the Andrus Family Fund and the Andrus Family Philanthropy Program.

Ms. Peguero has more than 18 years of experience in social justice programming and philanthropy work. She has served as Regional Vice President for the Posse Foundation, Deputy Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Local Funding Partnerships, Manager of Community Relations for the YWCA of the City of New York, and Associate Director of Adult Education at Planned Parenthood of New York City. She is a graduate of the National Urban Fellows, and a Board member of the NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault. She holds a B.A. from Fordham University and graduated with honors from the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College with a Masters in Public Administration.

It promises to be a great event! Please contact us at [email protected] for more information or to register.
