Over the years Casa Valentina has shared a storied history with the Junior League of Miami. As one of Miami’s most recognized organizations, the Junior League has been a dedicated group of women committed to empowering women, children, and families at risk in order to create a stronger community for all.
One of our more recent events together was a Movie Night hosted by the Junior League…although we never got to see the movie because our residents were so taken with the evening’s special guest…
Our residents not only enjoyed a delicious meal together, but they got a chance to hear renowned Chef Jamarr’s personal story from foster care to executive chef! As the Executive Chef of Grown, and five other restaurants nationwide, Chef Jamarr knows firsthand what it means to experience the ups and downs of foster care, and what it takes to overcome adversity to reach one’s goals.
